A-Style vs. B-Style Elbows — What You Need to Know
The difference between an A-style and a B-style elbow comes down to which direction the bend goes when you're looking at the face of the downspout connection. A-style elbows come off the gutter and direct the downspout toward the wall. B-style elbows offset the downspout away from the wall and are used when the gutter hangs further from the fascia — or when the run needs to clear an obstacle on the way down.
Most residential jobs use both. A-style at the top to bring the downspout to the wall, B-style at the bottom to kick the water away from the foundation. When you source both from the same order, they match — same color, same gauge, same paint batch.

Can I order elbows separately from downspouts and coil?
Yes. You can order elbows as a standalone item. Tell us the style, size, material, and color and we'll quote them. If you need them to match an existing installation, send us a sample or the original spec.
Do elbows come in both aluminum and copper?
Yes — we supply elbows in aluminum (all standard colors and gauges) and copper (matched to 16 oz or 20 oz coil spec). For copper systems, order elbows at the same time as your coil and downspouts so everything comes from the same copper stock.
What if I need a non-standard elbow angle?
Standard elbows cover most residential and commercial installations. For custom angles or unusual configurations, contact us with the spec and we'll advise on what's feasible and how to quote it.
Is the lead time the same as for coil?
Yes — 4–6 weeks from spec sign-off when ordered as part of a full system order. Lead time is confirmed at the quote stage.
